This is a guide on how to set up the equipment and position the hardware according to have it ready for Lexplore assessment.
Setting up the equipment.
The Tobii Eye tracker magnets need to be attached to the external display, positioning them centrally along the bottom of the screen frame.
The Tobii eye tracker is then attached to the magnet that has been stuck on the bottom of the external display. When it is positioned correctly you will hear a small click. Then, insert the cable from the Tobii eye tracker into one of the laptop/PC’s USB ports.
The external monitor cable should be connected to the laptop/PC.
Insert the display’s connection cable (HMDI or USB) into your laptop/PC. Ensure the display also has power by plugging in its power cord. If the display does not turn on automatically, press the power button.
The power cables are connected to the electrical outlets.
Positioning the hardware
Position the monitors so they are adjacent to each other at an angle of approximately 90 degrees, as shown in the image below. This allows the Examiner to have eye contact while talking with the student, and gives them access to adjust the display to gain perfect positioning. This arrangement will also prevent the student from being distracted by what is on the laptop/PC screen.
