What's new:

  • New features for the E-reader 
  • Limit book selection for pupils 

New features for the E-reader 

We're excited to announce improvements to the E-Reader, addressing previous issues with pausing audio in books with audio. These issues have now been resolved, ensuring a smoother and more user-friendly experience.

In addition, we've introduced a new toolbar for these books, packed with features to give readers greater control. The toolbar appears when the mouse is moved and disappears after a period of inactivity.

Here what’s new: 

  • Start or pause audio playback with the Play/Pause button. 
  • Easily adjust the volume in books with audio using the Volume button. 
  • Turn highlighted text on or off in books with audio with the Highlight button. 
  • Control the speed of audio playback via the Speed button. 
  • Customize the text size to your preference with the Text-Size button.  

Please note: 

  • In ebooks that do not include audio, the play/pause button and highlight feature will not function.

  • Not all e-books with audio include highlighted text, so the highlight feature will not function in those cases.

  • Some e-books with audio have been produced with a play button on the pages. In these cases, the built-in page controls must be used instead of the audio controls in the toolbar.

 

Limit book selection for pupils 

In the portal, you have several options for what to show the pupils in the Reading App. Previously, you could only change whether the Quiz and Reading Friends were visible in the menu.  

With our high volume of books in Reading App, it can also be overwhelming for the pupils. That’s why we have added a feature in the Portal where you can customize the types of books each pupil can view in the library. You can find the settings for this on the admin page, where you can see an overview of the pupils.

Here’s what’s new:

  • Show books recommended by Teachers – With this option, you can choose whether the pupils should be shown books recommended by teachers or not.
  • Show books recommended by Lexplore – With this option, you can choose whether the pupils should be shown books recommended by Lexplore or not.  
  • Show all other book shelfs – With this option, you can control whether the pupils should be shown other bookshelves or only the recommended books.
