Further work as an ambassador in Lexplore

Here we go😎

Hello again!

This part contains the continuation. So here we will look at the following recommendations after screening. The first one is Where are we going? Then it's time for How do we do it? Finally, an Evaluation.

I hope that after this training you feel that Lexplore supports you in your role as an Ambassador.

About this programme

I just want to remind you that your role as an ambassador will have a huge impact on how the work with Lexplore will work in your school. If you get your colleagues involved in this work, you have the opportunity to raise the students' reading ability.

This work is not something you can do alone with all students at the school, but together you can use your knowledge and creativity as well as Lexplore's recommendation and workshops to develop teaching in the best possible way.

Organisation of the training:

We will go through the next three parts, based on the Lexplore semester wheel. We have divided the training as follows:

  1. Plan: How can you conduct an analysis meeting with your colleagues, what is good to think about.
  2. Do: Here you get a ready-made proposal on how you can evaluate what you do together with your colleagues and set up a plan for the reading work.
  3. Review: What has worked well with the different parts during the term and what can be improved.

A semester with Lexplore - A semester with your systematic quality work

See below how Lexplore can become part of your important work!

In this training we will look at the remaining three steps in one semester.

Lexplore in systematic quality management

Lexplore in systematic quality management

1. Access - Start-up and Screening

2. Plan - The analysis gap

3. Do - Reading work with students

4. Review - How did it turn out?

How do you think about the analysis process?

Three quick questions before the rest of the course:

  • Have you and your head teacher booked a time för at staff group analysis meeting?
  • How accustomed are you in in your school to analysing student's results?
  • How involved do you feel the teachers in your school are in the work with Lexplore?

Follow the analysis plan

What is planned in becomes reality. You've probably heard that expression and it probably applies quite well in most contexts, so also with Lexplore😀.

Good planning is essential in the work, both with Lexplore but of course in everything, especially in school. When there is so much to fit into your time, clear and communicated planning is the basis for successful work with Lexplore.

In the first Ambassador 1 - Introduction and start-up we showed you how to plan for an analysis meeting. If you didn't have time to do it, do it now. Get support from your principal.

Also schedule a meeting with your Head Teacher to update.

The courses in Insights and Analysis

Under Academy we have all our training courses If you haven't already watched Insights and Analyses, do it now.

Ask all your colleagues to do so as well. Of course, you can also choose to do it together. Good that everyone looked at the three parts, 55 min, before the analysis workshop.

  • Insights & Analysis - Theory
The goal is for you to better understand what it is you see in the Lexplore portal and what Lexplore measures.
You will listen to Gustaf Öqvist Seimyr, researcher and founder of Lexplore, talk about what reading is, reading ability, normal distribution, Lexplore Score and percentiles, decoding and comprehension.

  • Insights & Analysis - Practical 1 & 2
The aim of this is to give you everything you need to know about how to look at the Lexplore portal and analyse the results. You will also get suggestions on how to analyse them.

Inviting colleagues to Lexplore

For your colleagues to be able to access insights and see trainings in Lexplore, they need a login. Usually it is the administrator at the school who invites all staff, maybe you have synchronisation. If someone is missing, you can see how to do it in this link to the Knowledgebase.

Workshop with your colleagues on the analysis work

About the workshop

This introduction is for you as an ambassador and project manager, or for those who will lead the workshop. It will provide you with the information you need to prepare for the implementation with your colleagues.

The aim of this workshop is to provide you and your colleagues with a common starting point for developing your reading instruction and for the organisation to provide the best conditions for this.

Introduction to the workshop

The two modules consist of:

  1. Analysing the school`s results - A brief review of what Lexplore measures.  Here you will work together to look at the results of the school, the class and the pupils. Together, you can identify the reasons for the results and plan actions together.

  2. Analysis work throughout the organisation - A brief review of what Lexplore measures .  The head teacher's group and the steering group can benefit from the insights in Lexplore for your organisation's joint work on raising the reading skills of all pupils. Here you can take a closer look at the insights at the organisational level and share what has emerged from the analysis work in the schools.

For more detailed information - look up the workshop under your training courses!

Introduction to Reading Work - Do

In this section, Reading Work, you will find out more about:

  • What courses are good for your school to take part in
  • What Lexplore recommends
  • What theories underpin Lexplore's recommendations
  • Support for planning in the form of a workshop with a set-up for reading activities that best benefit each group of students

See below where we are now in the semester wheel.

Your role as a Reading Ambassador

Your role here is the same as for the analysis work.

  • Inform the head teacher about the progress of the work
  • Organising a workshop with the college on reading work
  • Inform and support colleagues to implement digital courses in Lexplore, and take part in them yourself.

Follow the reading plan

Hopefully, at the beginning of the term, you scheduled a reading work meeting with Lexplore, or perhaps several meetings, to talk about what you are doing well in your classroom to promote the reading development of all students. If not, try to find a time for this.

It is good if all teachers in the school participate, even those who do not have English. Reading takes place in all subjects and all teachers can contribute and change something in their classroom to stimulate and meet all students. Ideally, you can divide the teachers into different discussion groups based on the same model.

Also book a meeting with your head teacher to coordinate.

Workshop with your colleagues on Lexplore Library

ChatGPT Image 13 nov. 2025 18_01_38

About the workshop

This introduction is aimed at those who are ambassadors or those who will lead the workshop. It will provide you with the information you need to organise the workshop with your colleagues.

The aim of this workshop is to support you and your colleagues in getting started with Lexplore Library.

Organisation of the workshop

The workshop you will be leading consists of a module that you will complete together with your colleagues. It includes an introduction to the various parts of the Lexplore Library and suggestions for how to use it. You will then practise together with six different tasks.

Before the workshop on reading work

The planning meeting is most effective if all educators in the school participate and have completed a number of tasks in advance.

If you think that many people will not have time to do this in advance, it may be useful to plan a longer meeting and start with the parts below, or to do some tasks in advance and some at the beginning of the meeting.

Before the workshop on reading work, ask everyone to read the following:

  • Look under Courses on the programme Reading journey - Theory 1-4.
  • Have a look at the Reading Journey - Practical 1-5
  • Read through the four introductions available under the Reading Instructions tab in Lexplore.

How do you think you will prepare for the workshop on reading work?

  • Everyone prepares individually
  • We do everything together
  • We do a mix of joint and individual work

Good work

Now I hope you have more ideas and inspiration for your reading development work at school🤩

Intro to evaluation

Introduction to Evaluation - Review

This part, Evaluation, is important to improve your work in the next term. What needs to be evaluated is the work you have done during the term.

That is:

  • How the assessement has worked
  • How the analysis work went
  • How the reading work has worked
  • Whether the reading work has had an effect

See below where we are now in the semester wheel👇.

hjulreview

How has the assessement worked?

The evaluation can be done by you as an ambassador or by all educators. You can do the evaluation together or you can send out a questionnaire to everyone. Ideally, you can do it in different ways in different semesters.

How do you want to carry out your evaluation?

Here are some suggestions for questions that you can use in your evaluation of the assessement:

  • Did the planning for the screening work well?
  • Do more people need to be trained as examiners?
  • Have all students been assessed as you intended?
  • The administration and technology around Lexplore, what can be improved?
  • What can be improved for the next assessement?
  • What needs do you see for everything to work as you want?

sreening

How did the analyses go?

Then it is time to evaluate the analysis work, both at school and class level.

Suggested questions for evaluation at school level:

  • Has the analysis been carried out at school level?
  • Have all educators been involved in the analysis?
  • Think about how you analysed and what you can improve for next time.

Suggested questions for class level evaluation:

  • Have all educators shared the insights in their respective classes and analysed a number of them?
  • Have the educators documented their findings?
  • Have the educators received support in their analysis work?
  • What needs do the educators have in the future to do a better job of analysing.

Evaluating the reading programme

The next step to evaluate is how the reading programme has worked in the school and in all classrooms.

Here are suggestions for questions that can be evaluated:

  • Has the reading programme worked as you planned?
  • Did the reading programme work for all students and staff at the school?
  • Which parts worked well?
  • What made it work well?
  • What worked less well?
  • What will you bring to the next reading period?

a1b1a8d2-89f4-43a5-b348-50d331406c93

Has the reading programme made an impact?

In the last phase of the term, it remains to assess the pupils who are low and about whom you have concerns to see if the students have had the expected reading development.

It is suggested that you do this:

  1. Assess the studens as planned

  2. Sit together in the team and look at the results of the students you retested.
Look at their stanine value and also the Lexplore Score.

Listen to the students that you have doubts about.

Also listen to the subsequent questions.

The Lexplore Score shows the student's individual development.

Think about how you worked with these students, has anyone been ill?

Have all the teachers worked as planned, has the reading work been completed?

If you feel doubtful about any result, you can always retest the student.

  3. What can you change for the next term?

Awesome job🙌

You are always welcome to come back and take a look at the different sections, get workshops and inspiration!

Your next training course, Ambassador 3, contains everything you need to know to prepare for the various workshops.

Thank you for this time!
