Introduction to Insight Levels
In this chapter, you will learn about the different levels of insights available when you log in to the Lexplore Portal.
There are five different levels, and depending on your user role, certain levels may be more relevant or useful to you.
The available insight levels are:
- Organisation level
- School group level, this may not be selected by your organisation.
- School level
- Class level
- Student level
All these levels can be found under Insights in Lexplore portal.

Student level
We begin with the student level, which is primarily intended for you as a teacher or educator working closely with students.

- View and listen to all of a student’s assessments
- Access detailed data from each assessment
- See which books have been recommended to the student
- Track what books the student has read and logged in their reading diary
👇🏼In the video below, you will learn how to:
- View class statistics for both assessments and reading activity
- Compare data across terms
- Filter the insights to focus on the information most relevant to you
School level

Organisational and school group levels
Now, let’s take a closer look at the final and most comprehensive levels in the Lexplore Portal.

- How to select and filter the data you want to analyse
- What a school group is and how it can be used to view collective insights across multiple schools
Different Roles – Different access levels
Access to the Lexplore Portal depends on the role you have been assigned. Each role has a unique homepage and varying levels of access to student data and insights. It's also possible to be assigned multiple roles.
Regardless of role, all users can view overall insights at the school and organisational level.
- Teacher
As a teacher, your homepage will show your assigned class or year group.
You can view and listen to your own students’ reading assessments, but you will not have access to other classes or students unless specifically invited. - Headteacher
As a headteacher, you have access to all students and classes within your school. You can view all insights and listen to all students' recordings. - Ambassador and examiner
Both roles have full access to the school’s data. In addition to viewing all student assessments, they can also assess students directly in the system.
