# How to delete an assessment result

## This article describes how you can go about and permanently delete a result from an assessment. For instance, if have done two recordings on one student and only like to keep one of them. Each recording is published as a result of the students reading ability.

 A result may need to be deleted for various reasons, and some of them can be:

- The student's performance on the day affected their result, and you feel that you want to give the student another chance to retake the test.
- The button "not reading yet" was pressed mistakenly.
- The student have been tested a couple of times within the last week or two but only one of the results should remain on the student timeline.
- Or any other reason when a result do not reflect the actual reading ability of the student.

Each recording with approved quality that a student performs is an assessment session and published with a result on the student profile. If a student has more than one assessment performed and published in a short period of time you can delete any that is not accurate.

### How to delete a result

1. Click on the students name in the classlist.
2. Choose with recording to delete from the overview page of the students activities.

3. Click on **'DELETE RESULT'.![](https://info.lexplore.com/hs-fs/hubfs/image-png-Sep-01-2025-11-27-39-2386-AM.png?width=1596&height=424&name=image-png-Sep-01-2025-11-27-39-2386-AM.png)**
4. Confirm that you do wish to delete this specific result by typing 'DELETE' in the type field and then click **'CONFIRM'**.(Confirm can only be clicked once the word delete has been typed in the field). This action will permanently delete the result and it  can not be retrieved.

5. Results has been permanently deleted.
