How to manage the SIS-log in Lexplore (Student information system integration)

When you organisation has an active Student Information System integration with one of our providers, the data imported to Lexplore is displayed in the sis-log of your organisation's account. This is for you to read, and act upon if necessary.

The SIS-log(also called sync-log) is intended to enable your organization to read the data imported to, or fetch by, Lexplore from a SIS integration provider.
In the log you get to see how data is analyzed and handled.

The designated person responsible or the Lexplore contact person within your organisation should have admin-permission(organisation-admin or project leader) to view this section.

The SIS-log is named only "Log" in Lexplore and can be found on Admin-page, on left hand menu under 'Log'. Example image below

The Log lists all data that Lexplore receives (or fetched depending on setup of integration) every night from your integration provider.  Data is sorted by date with the most recent on top.  and shows status of the import. Example image below:

The Log table gives you the date and time for the log entries in the first column, followed by columns 2-4  who states the number of students and/or teachers who are:

  • Added
  • Updated
  • Deleted

The column on the far right shows the status of each import. It will say either:

  • OK
  • Warning (as in the example above)
  • Error

To see details about a specific import/sync, click on the status for the date you want to check more closely. Example image below.

Depending on the status, detailed log entries per subject are displayed. If a status shows OK, there is usually not much information to view.  It may look like the following:

On the other hand, if warnings and error messages appear in the log, there may be data missing that you need to troubleshoot. Since Lexplore is only the receiver of the data and we display what we have received or not received, you need to look further in the integration provider or your organisations own source data system for troubleshooting. If you need support in what to look for please contact support@lexplore.com and we giv you guidance.

The Integration chain, in simple terms, looks like as follows:
Source data system -> Municipality's cloud-based information hub -> Integration provider -> Lexplore.

Since Lexplore is the final destination, we have no insight into what may have happened during the transfer of data to us. The sync log is visible in the Lexplore portal on each municipality's admin page to show what has been received and processed and what could not be synced. This makes it easy for designated users within the municipality to log in and review their own data.
