Further information about the comprehension questions.

The questions that follow the texts are there to assess the pupil’s understanding of what they have just read. The answer to each question is recorded and given as a basic measure of reading comprehension. This is provided alongside the analysis of the eye movement recording that was taken as the pupil reads, and their overall reading ability scores.

The reading comprehension questions measure a pupil’s basic reading comprehension skills, content understanding and ability to make inferences from the texts they have read. Depending on the age of the pupil, they are asked 3 – 6 questions following each passage of text.
