It is not possible to save the data in the Lexplore Results Portal if there are one or more validation error messages. These are different from warnings, but they can both occur if the Excel file does not match what is already in the portal.
The uploaded the data about new pupil in the excel file can be saved when all requirements of nexessary data are met. If data is missing or added incorrectly, the Portal will inform you of what needs to be adjusted. The portal will inform you in terms of errors and warnings.
Validation Error messages
It is not possible to save the data in the Lexplore Results Portal if there are one or more validation errors. These are different from warnings. If a validation error is presented, correct the errors in the Excel file e.g. ensure the mandatory columns all have data, correct column headers if they are not as required, or change the data format if needed, so you can move on with the import. Once you have made the changes, try to import the Excel file again.
Examples of Validation error messages:
- “The pupil already exists and is being assessed at the moment. Only pupils that are planned for test or who have an ended test session can be processed.”
-> The pupil with the highlighted Unique ID already exists within the Results Portal and
has an ongoing test session. - “There are pupils with duplicated Unique IDs."
-> This error message is shown if a Unique ID is being used for more than one pupil in
the Excel file. - “The selected Excel file: e.g. Pupildata.xlsx could not be uploaded. Ensure that
mandatory columns and approved column headers are used in the imported Excel sheet.”
-> Check all the mandatory columns are present and they have the correct headers. - “Missing value for e.g. First name”
-> One or several of the mandatory column fields are missing data e.g. First name, Last
name, Date of birth, Unique ID.
Warnings
Warnings appear when differences are identified in the new data you are trying to import
when compared to the current data that is already present in the Results Portal.
when compared to the current data that is already present in the Results Portal.
Although warnings appear, the system will still allow you to upload the data without you needing to make any amendments. If a warning is presented, it will advise if data will be changed.
For example, a pupil may have changed their name. The system will inform you of this and if you proceed it will update the pupil’s details for you in the import process. Please check you are happy with any suggested changes before you continue.
Examples of warnings:
- “A pupil (Mark Hammer) with Unique ID 19930915-4061 exists in the system. Saving will update the pupil information to: Markus Hammer, 19930915-4061”.
->This warning is shown if the system detects that a pupil who is already in the system
has had a name change according to the Excel file data being imported. - ” The student: Clark Kent already exists in class MrParker-1. Saving will cause the pupil to appear both in MrParker-1 and MrErixon.”
-> A pupil can not exist in two classes simultaneously.
