Introduction
Now you will learn how to access the page for reading activities.
You will be guided by images from the Lexplore Portal and the Reading App.
The images will include markings in the form of coloured underlines.
You’ll find references to different tabs or buttons in the text. The colour markings relate to specific tabs shown in the images.

Find the page Fluency practies
When you enter the portal, you will automatically be taken to the home page, from where you can proceed to the Insights page.
First, select your class. You will then see the class’s assessment results.
Now you will learn how to proceed to the page for reading activities.
Click on the tab labelled Reading (red)

Find the administration page in the Reading app
Click on the gear icon in the top right corner if you want to share login links or QR codes with the students so they can access the Reading App.
Here, you can also disable the quiz and reading friends features for the students.

Login links/QR codes, turn off reading friends and quizzes
First, look at the top image below.
- If you want to share a login link with a student, click Copy Link (red), then send it to the student.
- If you want to print QR codes for your class so that students can paste them into a planner, or you can place them on the wall, click the Login QR Codes button (green).
- The image at the bottom shows you what the QR codes will look like. You can then print them.In the digital library with fiction and factual books, some titles include a quiz.
- If you have access to the library, you can choose to deactivate the quiz for one, some, or all students by unchecking the Activated box (blue). If you don’t have access to the library, just leave the button as it is. Remember, the library is an add-on service. Students are automatically reading friends with classmates who have logged in at least once.
- Reading friends can challenge each other to read a book or a fluency book. You can choose to deactivate the reading friends function for one, several, or all students by unchecking the Activated box (yellow).
- If you want to apply the setting to the whole class, click the top box instead of unchecking each student one by one (red marking).

Find out what students are reading right now
When you’re done with your administration, simply click the button in the top right corner (red) to return to the Reading Activities page.

This is also the page where you can see the fluency practice that the students arecurrently reading.
If you have access to the library, it may also be a fiction or non-fiction book. In other words, you’ll see the most recently read book.

See reading recommendations for a student
If you want to see what reading has been recommended for a specific student, click on that student in the student list.
Then select the Recommendations button (red).
You will see a view showing recommendations from Lexplore and recommendations made by you as the teacher.
Students in Years 1–3 automatically receive fluency books recommended after completing an assessment. These are shown under Recommended by Lexplore.
For the rest of the students, it is up to you as the teacher to decide whether and which fluency practice they should receive.
Since motivation is essential for students struggling with reading, we want to keep it optional what should be recommended.
If you have access to the e-library, you will also see books from the e-library on this page.

Finding your way to the library (fluency training and books)
When you want to access the library to recommend fluency practice (or regular books from the add-on service), click on the Library tab.

Edit accessibility in the reading app for your students
As a teacher, you may want to restrict or open up more features in your students' reading app. For example, you might want to choose which recommendations your students see in their reading app, or whether they can read with friends.
Once your students have access to the Lexplore Reading App, you as a teacher have the opportunity to modify how they can use the app. This is all controlled from the Admin page for your class in the Lexplore portal.
Once you have clicked on a class in the Lexplore portal, click on the cogwheel at the top right to access the admin page.
