Get started with Lexplore - IT and Admin Guides

This collection of guides tailor to help your organisation get started with Lexplore. It covers user account setup, hardware and software for Lexplore assessment and more.

Equipment and Installation

Here we explain what hardware and software to use for assessment and how to install it. In order for the Lexplore service to work certain domains need to allowed for. Below you find a list of those domains.

Administration - Student

Prior to start assessing and planning for reading activities, all students need to be imported or synced. These are the different ways to import students to Lexplore:

  1. Someone with the Lexplore role 'User Administrator' can import students using our Excel template. Please note that this is manual task.

  2. An integration with your organisation Student Information System(SIS).  An active integration between SIS and Lexplore automate updates on student data. Updates run every night. Integration provider vary per country, see list below for more specifics.

Start by deciding what student import works best for your organisation. The links below give you more info on each option.

Administration – Staff

The guides above are also relevant in terms of creating user accounts for your staff members. It is possible with both manual import using excel spreadsheet(simliar to the stundet manual import) or activate an integration from your source system, same guides below as also where referenced to above:

Log in - staff

The decision here is around login. What login method would work best for your organisation. Either any of the Single-Sign on solutions we offer or the Lexplore local Account option. Here are the Single Sign-On solutions available with Lexplore:

  • Lexplore local account (Email, password, and verification code)
  • Office 365
  • Google
  • Skolon
  • Wonde

When inviting staff you will need to add a specific role for them (this can always be edited later on). For instance, if they will log in to Lexplore as a teacher in a specific class or perhaps as a principal in a school. We also have designated ambassadors for each school and that is a role we discuss in onboarding meetings.

User Roles in Lexplore

Log in - Student

As a student you have access to Lexplore Reading app. That's an app where they will find fluency practice, books and where they can manually log reading from a book they have read outside Lexplore. Students do not have access to their result from assessment. These are the different login options for students.

  • Qr-code
  • Login link(personal)
  • Email and password (email needs to be added to their user in the excel manual import or via the SIS sync)
  • Office 365
  • Google
  • Skolon
  • Wonde

QR-code and the login-link can always be used as a mean of loggin in. For the other options, the same login that has been set for staff will be the option available for students.
